Sustainable Steps: Our New Factory in China

One of the objectives for our new factory in China was to be much more energy efficient with increased focus on the environment. Better efficiency windows & insulation were chosen for the construction. We also included low power smart LED lighting throughout the factory and offices with sensors and light monitoring. We tried to improve green space and will make further steps on this next year. But the biggest piece of our green strategy comes from the solar panels installed on the building roof. The project provides has over 1200 individual panels covering almost 3,400 m2. The target is to provide up to 80% of our annual electrical consumption from our own roof photovoltaic cells allowing for summer & winter variations in light. There is significant financial benefit with fast return on investment. The environmental benefits are clear with the system providing annual CO2 savings of 750 tons plus other savings including coal, water, SO2, NOX and Carbon dust
